Unlocking the future: Technology Trends 2023

Technology is rapidly evolving and changing the way we live, work, and communicate. Every year, new technology trends emerge that have the potential to revolutionize our lives and the way we do business. As we look ahead to 2023, we can expect to see more exciting advancements in the field of technology. These trends will significantly impact how we work, shop, and interact with each other. This is my effort to capture some of the key technology trends we can expect to see in 2023 and beyond.

  1. AIaaS: AI as a service will continue to evolve and explode over the next year providing customers from multiple industries leverage the power of AI without the hassle of building their infrastructure or employing their own AI processing systems. AI is set to disrupt everything from design to manufacturing, and 2023 will see it become a part of mainstream decision-making. Just in this one week, generative Ai tools like ChatGPT3, MidJourney and DallE have created quite a buzz in the mainstream media. This is
  2. Low Code/ No Code: Platforms enabling low code/no code development continue to grow in popularity. The trend is expected to continue for a few years to come. These platforms will lower the expertise bar for users as more skilled professionals exit the job market and move to the gig economy, enabling them to build products and platforms more quickly and efficiently.
  3. Social Commerce/ Video Commerce: Platforms like TikTok and Instagram have changed how users consume content and highlighted video consumption as the new big thing. This paves the way for marketers to sell their products on social platforms. Social platforms have now developed their own commerce features for creators and consumers. This has a highly engaging new channel for marketers and continues to grow. Though not many companies have fully cracked the social commerce angle, and it is more individual creator-friendly, that is poised to change in 2023.
  4. AI/ ML Automation and decision making: Enabling and bringing data-driven decision-making, AI/ ML automation will pave the way for more informed and better decision-making in the boardroom and the storefront. It will also enable the automation of menial and repetitive processes making businesses efficient and optimized. Though not a new trend, it has and will continue to become more accessible enabling its growth in 2023.
  5. Web 3: Despite many challenges in 2022, primarily for blockchain and crypto projects whose technology is also intertwined with Web3, this year could be crucial for practically implementing these concepts and projects. 2023 will see substantial web3 interests in managing online identities, gaming, enabling native payments and reimaging finance and financial systems. Though these might take more time to be integrated or replace already existing systems, 2023 will be the year that shows the plausibility of Web3 in the real world.

As technology advances, we can only imagine what new trends and inventions will arise in the next few years. 2023 will be an exciting year for technology, with new products, solutions and innovations sure to surprise us all. I can’t wait to see what the future holds in store!
